Third House Rising to travel to Israel
to record songs for commemorative CD
FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 2, 2008) - Grammy nominated songwriter/producer Lawrence Dermer, who has written and produced for Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna will travel to Israel with his family April 7 – 15 where they will record songs for their new project, "Israel @ 60:We Are Strong."
"Israel @ 60:WeAre Strong" is a CD conceived and created to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the country of Israel. The Jewish Agency supported project features seven contemporary/pop songs co-written by Lawrence and his BMI Award winning songwriter wife, Robin. The compositions share a central theme of peace, unity and independence. The disc will include the voices of top Israeli artists and instrumentalists as well as choirs of Israeli children and young adults who have immigrated from all over the world.
The Dermers sons, who are multi-instrumentalists will also be recording with them.
The family will leave from New York and reach their destination in Tel Aviv, Israel on Monday, April 7th 6:00 p.m. Their journey across Israel will include stops in Sderot, Be’er Sheva, Herzalia, Hafia and culminate with three days of recording in Jerusalem.
The family, three of whom perform in their band Third House Rising, will travel with a photojournalist and a videographer to capture their adventures as they perform and share the inspirational songs with the children they encounter. The footage will be used to create an enhanced version of the CD for release in May 2008. Proceeds from the distribution of the Enhanced CD will benefit various charities in Israel.
“We feel strongly about sharing this message of peace and unity with the world. If everyone would look into the mirror and see what it is that they can contribute, instead of taking from the world, we would be living in a more peaceful time,” said Robin. “It is all of our responsibility. Lawrence and I feel so extraordinarily blessed, it is our duty to use the gifts that we have been given to write and create in a positive way, like making this contribution for peace in the Middle East.”

About the Dermers: Lawrence Dermer is a world-renowned singer/songwriter/producer who's written and produced for artists such as Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Lopez, Lenny Kravitz, and Madonna. His wife Robin is a BMI award-winning songwriter and the co-writer/producer of the songs on the disc. Their children Jaxson, 18 and Harrison, 16 complete the formation of the family’s band, Third House Rising, and will perform on the new CD, "Israel @ 60:We Are Strong."
